REACH Siem Reap’s integrated programs encourage, support as well as provide learning opportunities and social development for the students, families and communities they serve.
“Based on the outskirts of Siem Reap our mission is to provide a range of integrated programs for impoverished Cambodian Children. The programs we operate include, Education, Health and Nutrition, Outreach, Reach Riders Club, Rice Rewards, Youth Pathways and Computer Literacy.”

Nevertheless, working with children who belong to communities living from day to day means that there is more to education than academics. Strategies that encourage children to attend school, extend beyond the classroom. Some important REACH complementary programs that provide for basic needs and include the community come to mind.
Children are unable to learn if they are hungry so REACH provides all their primary students with a wholesome meal every day. Each child can access clean drinking water with meals with a multi-vitamin each day.
Families desperate for food are more inclined to remove their children from school to assist them forage for rubbish as an income.
The Rice Rewards program is aimed at families. It is an incentive-based program that encourages parents to continue sending their children to school. Every month students who demonstrate a high attendance rate at Public School and REACH programs will receive 10 kg of rice and other nutritional supplements. This helps alleviate financial pressure, and discourages families from taking students out of school for illegal work over the borders, the sex trade or begging. With the REACH programs engaging families, communities and students, education is experienced as a valuable resource with successful results for everyone.
